LIFE SKILLS DEVELOPMENT
The HeartWorks programs that foster life skills development are designed to model, support and foster healthy lifestyle choices in the families in our community.
Stillwaters: Provides licensed mental health counselors to help students in each public school and the Charter school.
Family Unity and Nurturing (FUN) Program: Provides after school, holiday and summer care for children from kindergarten-5th grade. Includes academic tutoring, behavioral and social modeling and healthy recreational outlets.

Support Our Students (SOS) Progams: Provides after school, holiday and summer care for students in 6th-8th grades. Includes academic tutoring, behavioral and social modeling and healthy recreational outlets.
Mentoring: Matches children in kindergarten-8th grade with caring, consistent adults who will provide support, encouragement, advice and positive role modeling in order to help the children reach their full potential.
Dropout Prevention: A partnership with Pamlico County Schools designed to ensure that all students are actively engaged in the learning process and successfully graduate from high school.
