Career Interest Surveys
Many students who dropout of school do not do so because they are failing their academic classes or cannot handle the work. Many leave school because they do not feel engaged in class and do not see the "real world" value
in what they are learning.
Many school systems are beginning to address this area through programs such as "career academies" that link high school or even middle school students' career interests to their core academic classes as well as to their elective classes. There are also many other types of programs that help students to see the "real world" value in their education and help set them on the right path for their future.
Many students aren't sure what career field they are interested in. While it may not be possible or even advisable for a student to pick their specific career at such young ages, it is important for students to start exploring the career fields or industry areas that interest them.
Below, you will find links to several online career interest surveys. Some of these sites require that you register with a name and e-mail address. Students are encouraged to do this only with their parents' permission. All of these sites do not charge for their career surveys. By answering a series of questions, students can begin to gather information about what types of careers they might be best suited for and begin this important exploration process.
While we have worked to link only the best, most reliable
online resources, inclusion of a web page link on this site does not
constitute an endoresement of its contents by HeartWorks. Some links require Adobe Acrobat. All links will open in a new window.
